Description
Be a Superhero at Your Library! Communicating and Connecting with Students
Our students, often in the Millennial and Gen Z generations, have new challenges and opportunities that previous generations, even those early Millennials, didn't have. Come and hear about the best ways to connect with our students whether they are workers at our service desks or needing library assistance.
Presenters
- Rachel Reiser (Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Program and Career Development, Boston University) speaking about Millennials.
- Greta Kenney (Associate Director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Holy Cross) speaking about diversity and bias in the workplace
- Amy Galante (Writer of Close Encounters of the Nerd Kind; former Assistant Manager of Access Services, Bentley University) and Ariel Bordeaux (Special Collections Assistant, RISD) speaking about graphic novels.
NOTE: Light breakfast fare and lunch will be provided.
Organized by
The Access Services Interest Group (ASIG) is an interest group within the ACRL New England Chapter. ASIG seeks to bring together, from all levels of library personnel, those who work in access services areas (circulation, distributed/distance learning, document delivery, interlibrary loan, reserves, etc.) of libraries located within New England with the goal of sharing ideas and information.
